11th ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP, TOYAMA JAPAN
OCTOBER 12th--13th 2002


The 11th Asian Championship will take place in Johana, Toyama, Japan, October 12-13 2002. The competition will include men and women\'s difficulty and speed events.


1. Organisation

Japan Mountaineering Association

2. Participation / Team quotas

a) Difficulty: Each Country: 5 male and 5 female competitors
Japan: 10 male and 10 female competitors

b) Speed: Each Country: 3 male and 3 female competitors

Note: All competitors must be registered by there national federations on the attached application form.


3. Travel Details

a) Best way is fly to Seoul. There’s a flight to Toyama Friday 12:05.

b) Fly to Kansai Airport (Osaka, Japan) Friday. We’ll arrange a big bus for pick you up to Toyama (take about 4 hours).

IMPORTANT: Those competitors for whom their belonging Federation has not applied for a 2002 International Licence will not be allowed to compete!

7. Accommodation

IOX WALD exist in Fukumitsu town close to Johana town

COTTAGE 4 persons or 6 persons with bath.
Rate: 2000 Yen (about 17 dollars) per night, per person, with dinner and breakfast.
Be recommended one Cottage for one team.

If you want stay Hotel, it costs 7000 to 10000 Yen,
Application of reservation should be made through JMA by attached form.
JMA will pick you up at Airport to Cottage.


8. Competition venue: Sakuragaike Climbing Center
About 10 minutes from cottages by bus.

9:00 -- 12:00 Men and women’s difficulty semifinal
12:00 -- 13:00 Men and women\'s speed final
13:30 -- 14:30 Women\'s difficulty final
14:30 -- 15:30 Men\'s difficulty final
16:00 -- 16:30 Awarding ceremony
18:00 -- 20:00 Farewell Party
